Tecsound SY 50 (Also known as Tecsound S 50) is a premium acoustic membrane engineered to reduce sound transfer between separating floors, walls and ceilings. With its high mass and simple self-adhesive backing, it offers a fast, effective solution for retrofit and new-build projects where space is premium but acoustic performance is critical.

Typical Applications

Retrofit soundproofing in leasehold flats: reduce voice and footstep noise to separate dwellings.
Studios and offices: control speech and media noise through partitions and ceilings.
Underfloating floors: combine with acoustic underlay (such as dB FFR, dB Matting, Hush Panel, Soundmass or Acoustilay) to tackle both impact and airborne noise.
Wall linings and bulkheads: install behind plasterboard mosaics or media walls to increase mass and reduce noise transmission.
Structural Noise: Deaden I-Beams / RSJ's with Tecsound SY 50. It's easily cut and fit onto steelwork to deaden vibrational noise transfer.

What does Rw mean?

Rw stands for Weighted Sound Reduction Index — it measures how well a system blocks airborne noise such as voices, TV or music between rooms or floors.

What does ΔLw mean?

ΔLw measures the reduction in impact noise (like footsteps or furniture movement) through a floor compared to no insulation. Higher ΔLw = better footfall reduction.

Why are results shown as a range?

Performance depends on the full construction build-up. Tecsound® always performs best when combined with dense materials such as acoustic plasterboard and rockwool.
